- Records in the system show an association between IP addresses and Files of Interest (FOI) and/or Torrents of Interest (TOI). The nature of the association; i.e. full possession, partial possession, attempting to possess or something other cannot be determined without further investigation and analysis of the records and in some instances the type of association may not be possible to determine with the information available.
- FOI and TOI are files related to the exploitation of children but may not meet the statutory definition of child pornography in your jurisdiction as such users may not rely solely on ICACCOPS classification as a FOI or TOI as the basis of search warrants or criminal charges. These files (identical copy determined by cryptographic hash value matching) must be viewed by the user and independently evaluated to determine if the file is child pornography in each investigation.
- To the extent practicable, data should be independently verified. This most frequently will be accomplished using complimentary tools.
- To the extent practicable, no information will be included in search warrant affidavits or other orders directly attributed to ICACCOPS by name but if necessary it may be referenced as a “law enforcement system to aid investigators in child exploitation cases.” Although all cases are unique, often the information may be attributed to the submitting investigator, however when using information from another investigator obtain prior approval for its use.
- The website and all information contained herein should only be used as designed and intended. If a need arises to use the data in a manner other than intended prior approval from an ICACCOPS administrator is required.
